You can see your results online with PATIENTVIEW

PatientView was originally produced by RIXG, the Renal Information eXchange Group: a UK group representing renal patients and renal teams. 3,000 patients at the Royal Free London use this service.

The service allows you to access your latest blood test results online from the Royal Free renal unit computer system. All you have to do is sign up. There is an application form you can download here.  All you need to do is to provide an email address along with your name, date of birth, NHS number and ask a member of the renal team to witness the form as a member of the renal staff is required to confirm your identity.

The renal IT team will then process your application. They will send you a username and a password separately. You can then use your login details to log in here.  The first time you use the system, you will be asked to change your password so that only you know it.

Is it safe?

Yes. Every time any information is sent across the internet, it is coded. The codes used are almost impossible to break. The security systems are like those used for credit cards online or online shopping.

It is important to keep your password safe but you can choose to share your password with your GP or other people you trust.
