Max and Keira’s Story

Max, received a lifesaving heart transplant in August 2017 aged nine.

Keira Ball was a loving and caring young girl who sadly passed away after a road traffic accident in the summer of 2017.

Keira donated her kidneys, liver and heart – which went to Max. Her donation was the inspiration for “Max and Keira’s Law”, which is what the Organ Donation (Deemed Consent) Act 2019 is commonly called. This Act came into effect on 20th May 2020.
