One of the most important responsibilities of the RFHKPA is to use donated funds wisely and this responsibility falls within the domain of the seven RFHKPA trustees.
Requests for grants can come from members of the renal team who have to justify to us that what is requested can’t be purchased through existing channels and that our fellow Royal Free patients will benefit from the purchase of requested items. They also come to us from members of the nursing team, usually a unit lead nurse who supplies to us a grant request form with a justification as to why a patient is in need of help. We take all requests very seriously. We endeavour to purchase at discount prices and we have an experienced lead trustee buyer who always obtains the best possible purchase price.
