Donation to the RFHKPA, in memory of Modestos Procopiou Panayiotou

The RFHKPA was very sad to hear that one of our dialysis patents, Modestos Procopiou Panayiotou, had passed away earlier this year.

We are very grateful to his family and friends, who raised money at his funeral and have donated £1,800 to the Royal Free Kidney Patients Association in his memory.

The family hope this money will help other kidney patients during their journey and also help provide the excellent staff with more resources and tools to carry on fulfilling their jobs to such a high standard.

They have also provided the following very kind comments about the care provided by the Royal Free over several years:

“Our father was very much cared for by a great team at Tottenham Hale Kidney & Diabetes Centre. Throughout our years visiting the centre we can honestly say we never had a bad experience. All the staff were wonderful. We would also like to take this opportunity to especially express our indebted appreciation to Dr. Goodlad and PD Nurse Faith Matijiu, whom without their support, compassion and dedication we do not think we would have coped as well as we did. They went above and beyond to listen to our Dad on how he felt and what he wanted. They also included us in conversations and as a result we built a mutual understanding and worked well together to support Dad. Our Dad was extremely grateful and thankful to have had the opportunity to see them during his last hospital admission at the Royal Free. They always did bring a smile to Dad’s face and he always spoke very highly of them and truly appreciated everything they did for him. As a family we will never forget this.”
